Soap Bus Tickets promote public health in Sri Lanka
For regular public transport commuters, a bus ticket and antiseptic soap are typically two quite distinct things.
In Sri Lanka, the Asiri Group of Hospitals, one of Sri Lanka’s largest health care providers wanted to encourage people to wash their hands after their bus commute as a preventative measure to avoid spreading germs. However, initial research showed that bus stations rarely provided soap, making the effects of any hand washing redundant.
