High Theatre Taxi Drama

July 15, 2014

Classics like Dostoyevsky’s “Crime and Punishment” and Shakespeare’s “Othello” and “The Merchant of Venice”, take centre stage in a new viral campaign from the Yugoslav Drama Theatre.

Unsuspecting passengers in Belgrade, Serbia were intrigued and horrified as their taxi drivers shared their dramatic ‘personal stories’ during the course of their local cab ride. But all was not as it appeared. Once passengers arrived at their destination, the cab drivers divulged their true identities - telling passengers they were actors reciting iconic passages from classics, in a bid to get locals to visit the theatre a little more often.
