In March 2012, Cartier created a beautiful three and a half minute ad that re-told their iconic brand history. Now, Guerlain, one of the oldest perfume houses in the world, looks to have surpassed that feat with a 5:45 minute love story designed to promote their flagship fragrance, Shalimar (a perfume launched way back in 1925).
Guerlain brand ambassador and top Russian model, Natalia Vodianova, stars in the branded epic that is inspired by one of India’s greatest love stories, that of Emperor Shah Jahan and his Empress Mumtaz Mahal (for whom the Taj Mahal was built).
Directed by Bruno Aveillan, who was also in charge of the Cartier epic, the film features the same stunning cinematography and powerful musical score that characterised the Cartier ad.
